THE WEEKLY EDIT:
Reading: Eleven Rings: The Soul of Success by Phil Jackson
The legend won eleven championship during his storied career as head coach of the Chicago Bulls and Los Angeles Lakers - more championships than any coach in the history of professional sports. He was also dubbed the “Zen master.” I think he’s got a thing or two to say that I want to learn.
Watching: Monsters
Growing up in LA, I vividly remember the Menendez case as it rocked the community. Now that I’m watching the show on Netflix, the story is even crazier than I ever really knew! A heads-up, it’s an intense watch, but it’s so well done. Congratulations to our good friend and creative genius, Max, who directed a few of the episodes!
Harvesting: Honey
After a busy summer of collecting nectar and pollen, it’s time for the fall flow from our bees. Beautiful raw honey with rich and earthy Santa Ynez notes, coming right up!
Search: Cookbooks!
I’m on the hunt for some new cookbooks. What do you got for me? Favorite old or new? I just ordered this (love her Substack).
Great Sales: Kosas, Madewell, Frame, Freda & Pottery Barn Halloween Costumes
Kosas is 20% off sitewide this week. DreamBeam, concealer, blush, oh my!
Madewell is 25% off. This Khaite-esque bucket bag, light trench and spilt crewneck cardigan are in my cart. But also, this oversized cashmere sweater feels like it would get great use.
Frame is 25% off sitewide—it’s the Barrel’s and Le Slim Palazzo’s for me.
Freda Salvador 20% off their best sellers including their viral loafers and ballet flats.
Lastly, if you’re looking to get ahead on Halloween costume shopping for kids, Pottery Barn Kids has the cutest options, and everything is on sale this week! My girls wore these butterfly fairy costumes last year, and it was pretty magical (Jack was a caterpillar).
ALRIGHT, LET’S GET INTO IT:
Friction Audit
"Where is there friction in your life?"
This was the text my girlfriend sent me on a Sunday night in the midst of the dinner, bath, and bedtime routine. It caught me off guard—deep, existential questions usually didn't mix with the chaos of nightly routines.
