At some point, without ceremony or warning, you slip into the age of knowing better.
You still mess up, you still overdo it, you still occasionally say yes when you should’ve said no. But now, you know. The awareness is there, buzzing beneath every decision. You can’t unsee it. You can't unfeel it.
You know better than to book the 7am flight and expect to be a patient mother. You know better than to say “Let’s circle back” when you have zero intention of circling. You know better than to think that one late night won’t throw off your entire week. You know better than to trust a strapless bra. You know better than to skip breakfast and expect to feel like a goddess. You know better than to work with someone when your gut says don’t.
