It’s a bit disorienting when a season is skipped almost entirely, which has been the case for winter here in Santa Ynez, California. While warm afternoons and sunshine are always a delight, my soul and circadian rhythm have been craving cold, rainy moodiness. I need to feel winter in my bones before moving into spring (in 32 days!) - just as I need a good stretch before a workout.
And in the nick of time, the temperatures dropped, giving us the chance to glug around in rain boots, eat warm stews and soups, and turn on the fireplace - along with this Nancy Meyers playlist, which is even better with the kitchen window cracked open, the sound of the rain seeping in like its own perfect accompaniment. I savored it all (the whole two days we got!) - stir-crazy children, wet yellow Labrador paws, and all.
I hope you’ve gotten something this week that your soul needed. Whether it was weather, a good conversation with a friend, a nice sweat, a moment of stillness, or a laugh that lingered - I hope it found you exactly as you needed it.

Ran out of three beauty products (why is it always in three’s?!):
Hair by Sam McKnight Happy Endings Nourishing Balm which is an every hair wash use for me, it gives my ends the perfect texture without looking greasy.
Westman Super Loaded Drops. I fell in love with the bronze glow during the summer and use the lighter shade in winter. Healthy and natural looking.
Victoria Beckham Beauty The Concealer Pen which she launched in collaboration with Augustinus Bader. When I saw this on IG, it was an immediate add to cart. I use this and the new brightening KOSAS which is soooo sooo good.

In The Kitchen:
I made this creamy, spicy white bean stew (sans the arugula) and it was delcious. Like alla vodka but with white beans instead of pasta.
Also made this winter citrus with crunchy fennel and parmesan, it was beautiful!
