The Weekly Edit
rose season, dopamine plating, calm productivity and kurt cobain’s notebook
It was our ten-year wedding anniversary on Friday, and it was one of those surreal days where I found myself thinking - how?! How has it already been a decade? How did the years go by in a blink? How have we built a whole life together - through seasons of change, growth, joy, chaos, quiet, and everything in between?
My husband once said, “Life isn’t a dress rehearsal,” and it’s one of those lines that has stayed with me. It’s a reminder that this - right now - is the real thing. Not the preview, not the warm-up. And I think that’s what makes anniversaries feel so meaningful; it’s the reflection and celebration of all the full-out life we’ve already lived together.
I hope you had a nice week! Let’s get into this week’s edit:
Is ‘clean’ fashion about to have a moment? Brands like Mate (they make my favorite t-shirts for Jack) and Pact have been at this for a while but perhaps they’ve just scratched the surface?
Love this ‘Ultimate Guide to Hosting a Spring Dinner Party.’ The recipes sound fantastic!
The 10th anniversary of Chef’s Table was announced and will feature legends Alice Waters, Jamie Oliver, José Andrés and Thomas Keller. Mark your calendars for April 28th.
What I learned over lunch with Warren Buffett.
The Row’s unexpected connection to Colombia’s Indigenous style. There’s also a part two.
Listening to Nikki Glaser and Gwyneth Paltrow on the goop podcast as they dive into sex, beauty standards & stand-up.
So much yesssss to “dopamine plating.”
Went to San Ysidro Ranch to celebrate our anniversary - no notes!
I like the term calm productivity. Also like: meliorism.
Kelly Wearstler makes a strong case, and gave a how-to, for living with strange furniture.
My girls (5 & 7) are obsessed with this art project, they sit for hours doing it.
In case you are having trouble keeping up with all the designer and brand changes (me!), here’s a cheat sheet to all the recent shake-ups.
Ryan Murphy has found his Carolyn Bessette-Kennedy and I can not wait for this American Love Story.
Graydon Carter shares his gut reactions to today’s most pressing matters and his advice on Gen Z is spot on. I plan to devour his new book.
Our first rose of the season has bloomed which really sparks joy!
I ordered a fresh pair of my favorite gardening gloves for the season (also curious about these).
Always love to see creative’s in their homes. Also cool to see creative’s preferred notebooks including Basquiat (black and white marbled composition), Kurt Cobain (red spiral), etc.
I did not know how great Kids Foot Locker is for cute bebe shoes! Sambas, Gazelle’s, Air Max, Jordan’s, Vans, New Balance - they’ve got it all. Hot tip!
Random fun fact: did you know Aretha Franklin, Diana Ross, Chaka Khan, Celine Dion, Mariah Carey, Lady Gaga AND Reba McEntire share a birthday week? It’s this week and they’re calling it “Diva Week.”
The cottage cheese craze (honestly, someone at good culture deserves a raise).
Nordstrom beauty is 15% off (ends today). Westman (these in ‘Peau De Soleil’ are my spring/summer glow essential), Dr. Diamond’s Metacine and all.
Things I notice when I'm not rushing.
If you enjoyed this, would you be kind enough to give it a little heart?
I hope you have a nice Sunday! See you back here on Thursday.
